The U.S. Navy has awarded L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) separate contracts to test radio frequency jamming technologies and provide related technical data.
L3 and Northrop will receive up to $35.8M and $35.2M in contract funds, respectively, to perform work on Increment 2 of the Navy’s Next Generation Jammer Low Band program, the Defense Department said Thursday.
The service branch will provide $14.7M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds to each contractor at the time of award.
Naval Air Systems Command received four offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee contracts.
The Pentagon expects both companies to complete work by June 2020.
