Raytheon Updates Air Force AOC Weapon System Software via Agile Method; Todd Probert Quoted

Todd Probert

TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 1, 2018 ” Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has implemented an agile development approach to update the baseline software of the Air and Space Operations Center Weapon System used by the U.S. Air Force, ExecutiveBiz reported Sept. 19.

FlightGlobal reported Sept. 19 that the agile method has worked to help Raytheon introduce targeting, battle damage assessment and logistics functions to the AOC-WS software in a move to boost operational efficiency while ensuring system security.

“If I can deliver incrementally new updates, I™m not building stuff up and waiting for two years to go through the [waterfall] test process to go deliver them,” Todd Probert, vice president of mission support and modernization at Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services unit, told the publication.

“We need a model that allows us to continuously look at what™s going on, assess, test, check,” he added.
