Jacobs Uses Crawler-Transporter to Move Mobile Launcher Across KSC Amid Exploration Mission-1 Prep


TYSONS CORNER, VA, September 27, 2018 ” Jacobs Engineering Group (NYSE: JEC) has helped transport a modified mobile launcher between the vehicle assembly facility and launch pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center using the Crawler-Transporter 2 tracked vehicles as part of the company’s Exploration Ground Systems operations support contract with NASA, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The company said Tuesday the structure’s movement to undergo interface fit checks as well as systems verification and validation testing at the KSC facilities marks the first time since 2011 that a mobile launcher and crawler-transporter transited together, with preparations for the upcoming Exploration Mission-1 launch underway.
