General Atomics to Retrofit Air Force UAV Ground Control Station Under $92M Contract


General Atomics has received a $92.2M contract from the U.S. Air Force to update the service branch™s ground control station for MQ-9 Block 30 unmanned aerial vehicles.

The company’s aeronautical systems unit will convert the MD-1A Block 15 GCS to the Block 30 configuration in line with a fiscal 2018 retrofit effort, the Defense Department said Friday.

The service branch will obligate $29.8M at the time of award from its fiscal 2016 and fiscal 2018 aircraft procurement funds.

Contract work will occur at a company facility in Poway, Calif., through May 29, 2020.
