HII Newport News Shipbuilding Starts Grant Program for Virginia Community Efforts


TYSONS CORNER, VA, August 21, 2018 ” A Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) division has launched a program that aims to fund nonprofit organizations focused on community initiatives that support the Hampton Roads region in Virginia, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Friday Newport News Shipbuilding‘s new philanthropic effort called the One Community Transformational Grant will provide startup capital for eligible nonprofits in support of projects in the areas of education and workforce development; environmental stewardship; health, wellness, safety and human services; as well as inclusion and diversity.
