The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) a $302 million delivery order to obtain ancillary mission equipment for the 12th F-35 aircraft batch.
The Defense Department said Friday the company will use the funds to procure low-rate initial production lot 12 aircraft equipment for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, non-DoD participants and foreign military sales customers.
Lockheed received a $1.38 billion advance acquisition contract in May of last year to acquire long-lead time materials and services necessary to build 130 jets.
Work under the delivery order will occur in Fort Worth, Texas, through January 2021.
