GE to Replace, Repair Navy Aircraft Engine Parts Under Potential $630M Contract

General Electric (NYSE: GE) has secured a potential $630.5 million contract to repair or replace components of afterburning turbofan engines that currently power the U.S. Navy‘s F/A-18 E/F and EA 18G aircraft platforms.

The Defense Department said Tuesday that GE will also support 773 F414 engine parts as part of the firm-fixed-priced, performance-based logistics requirements type contract.

Ninety-nine percent of work will occur at various GE supplier locations and the remaining 1 percent will take place in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support solicited and received one offer for the non-competitive requirement.

The Pentagon expects the company to complete services by April 2022.
