The U.S. Navy has awarded five companies positions on a potential five-year, $74.5 million contract to provide policy development and decision-making support in the areas of health management, logistics and operations.

The Defense Department said Monday contractors will vie for task orders to help manage programs within the Readiness and Health Directorate of the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.

Twelve proposals were submitted for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via the FedBizOpps website.

The awardees are:

  • Accenture’s (NYSE: ACN) federal services business
  • Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH)
  • Cape Fox Federal Integrators
  • Deloitte
  • Universal Consulting Services

Eighty-five percent of work will occur at various contractor locations across the U.S. and the remaining 15 percent will take place at government facilities in Falls Church, Va.

The Navy will distribute $100,000 in fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds to all five awardees.
