Johns Hopkins APL Helps NASA Complete Parker Solar Probe Integration Ahead of August Launch


TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 9, 2018 ” Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory has helped NASA fully integrate a spacecraft that will work to study the sun™s corona as part of a mission that will launch in August, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The space agency said Thursday the Parker Solar Probe has been equipped with the Thermal Protection System, an eight-foot-diameter heat shied, which underwent tests and evaluation at the APL facility in Laurel, Md., at Goddard Space Flight Center and at an Astrotech Space Operations facility in Titusville, Fla.
