Lockheed Subsidiary to Produce Army Vehicle Sensor Spare Parts Under $80M Contract

The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded a five-year, $80 million contract to a Lockheed Martin subsidiary to produce spare parts for a remotely-controlled, multisensor surveillance technology for U.S. Army.

Gyrocam Systems will manufacture the AN/VSQ-6B Vehicle Optics Sensor System spares under the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

According to a FedBizOpps summary, VOSS uses a commercial camera technology and functions as a payload on types I and II of the Medium Mine Protected Vehicle platform.

The Army has installed the vehicle sensor on multiple variants of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle to support Operation Enduring Freedom and major command operations.
