Johns Hopkins APL Wins $57M in Air Force Contracts for Computer Software R&D


TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 19, 2018 ” The U.S. Air Force has awarded Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory two indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts worth $57.1 million combined to support research and development of computer software platforms, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

Johns Hopkins APL aims to develop a tool that can assist the Air Force in engineering and R&D efforts on space control, communications, situational awareness and electro-optics; positioning, navigation and timing; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; lasers; and high-power electromagnetics under a $47 million award, the Defense Department said Friday.

A separate $10.1 million contract will provide for prototype systems that can support the Air Force™s multidomain command-and-control architecture at the National Space Defense Center.
