Bruce Greenstein

Bruce Greenstein, chief technology officer at the Department of Health and Human Services, will leave HHS to serve as chief innovation and technology officer at Lafayette, La.-based in-home health care services provider LHC Group (Nasdaq: LHCG) starting June.

Greenstein œwill lead our enhanced emphasis on innovation and technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health care services, Keith Myers, chairman and CEO of LHC Group, said in a statement published Tuesday.

œBruce will also play a key role in the development of value-based models for our core business and additional business lines, as well as new arrangements with our managed care partners, Myers added.

His appointment came after LHC wrapped up its merger with home health services provider Almost Family in April.

Greenstein™s technological experience would help the company build up its care management, telehealth and remote monitoring capabilities.

He is former secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

He previously served as managing director of Worldwide Health for Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), CEO of Blend Health Insights and president-west for Quartet Health.

Fedscoop reported that Ed Simcox, deputy CTO at HHS, will assume CTO responsibilities upon Greenstein™s departure on June 1.
