John Jumper, former chairman and CEO of Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), is due to retire from the company’s board of directors at the end of his term.
Leidos said Wednesday it has launched a search for Jumper’s successor on the seat that he will vacate after his departure from the board.
He joined the company in March 2012 when it was still known as Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) and led the government contractor through its separation into two independent companies now called SAIC and Leidos.
“On behalf of the Leidos Board of Directors and our 32,000 employees worldwide, I want to thank John for guiding our company into the future,” said Leidos Chairman and CEOÂ Roger Krone.
“John’s legacy of leadership and counsel over the past eleven years set us on a path that will endure as we continue to grow Leidos as a global technology leader,” added Krone, a 2018 Wash100 recipient.
Jumper has served as a board member at the company for 11 years.
He spent nearly four decades at the U.S. Air Force and was the service branch’s chief of staff before moved to the private sector.
