TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 5, 2018 ” Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) F-35 fighter aircraft is set to receive an anti-collision system currently installed on F-16s through a partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory and the F-35 Joint Program Office, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The F-35 JPO said the AFRL-developed Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System works to prevent a ground crash or a controlled flight into terrain either by prompting pilots to take certain actions based on GPS and system data or by taking control of the aircraft to perform an automatic recovery maneuver.
