BAE Lands Army Contract to Equip Munitions With Precision Guidance Kits


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 1, 2018 ” BAE Systems will provide updated precision guidance kits to the U.S. Army under an $8 million contract in efforts to increase the accuracy of 155-millimeter artillery munitions, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

The company said Tuesday the contract from the Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium covers the delivery of guidance kits that will work to enable a function for the munitions to change trajectory during flight even in environments with degraded GPS signals.

General Atomics’ aeronautical systems business unit has secured a $52.9 million contract to help the U.S. Army sustain its fleet of MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft systems.
