Rod Fontecilla, formerly a vice president at Unisys (NYSE: UIS), has joined Altamira Technologies as chief technology officer.
Fontecilla will directly report to Chairman and CEO Ted Davies and oversee the McLean, Virginia-based government information technology contractors innovation programs, communities of practice and technology assessment efforts, Altamira said Tuesday.
Davies said Fontecillas appointment to the executive team comes as Altamira continues to develop new platforms for national security clients.
We expect to inject Rods expertise into our portfolio of data science and analytics programs and welcome his leadership across the full spectrum of our advanced engineering work, he added.
Fontecilla spent more than six years at Unisys, where he led the IT companys global data analytics practice.
Prior to Unisys, he worked for two years at Sevatec as a senior VP and CTO and spent 15 years as a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH).
He also served as an assistant professor at the University of Maryland between 1983 and 1990.
Fontecillas career includes leadership experience over various technology programs across the areas of cybersecurity, cloud migration and development and application modernization.
His appointment came a week after Altamira announced the promotion of former chief strategy officer Jonathan Moneymaker to president.
