ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT) hosted a retirement party for Bill Varner, outgoing president of the Herndon, Virginia-based information technology services contractor’s mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group.
Varner, who is also an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2017, will retire by the end of December after an eight-year career at ManTech.
Kevin Phillips, president and chief operating officer at ManTech, delivered a speech at the event in recognition of Varners career and accomplishments at the company.
Also present at the event were Rick Wagner, MCIS group executive vice president and COO and his fiancée Sherri Mitchell, along with Bill Varner’s wife Linda.
Prior to joining ManTech in 2009, Varner previously served as VP and executive director of the intelligence operations unit at TASC, which Engility (NYSE: EGL) acquired in 2015.
He also worked at ESL, where he helped build signal-processing and adaptive-speech systems.
Wagner will succeed Varner on Jan. 1 and oversee the delivery of support services to U.S. intelligence agency clients.
