DIA Awards $125M Sensor Engineering, R&D Contract to Johns Hopkins APL


The Defense Intelligence Agency has awarded Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory a potential five-year, $125 million contract to research, develop, integrate and engineer specialized sensor systems.

APL will support multiple divisions within the advanced technologies office at DIA™s Directorate of Science and Technology under the sole-source contract, the Defense Department said Thursday.

Work will occur at various locations across the U.S. and is expected to finish by Nov. 30, 2022.

The Virginia Contracting Activity manages the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract on behalf of DLA.

DLA obligated $2.25 million in fiscal 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds for the initial task order under the IDIQ.
