Paul Eremenko to Become UTC SVP, CTO in January

Paul Eremenko, formerly chief technology officer at Airbus, will join United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) to serve as a senior vice president and CTO starting Jan. 1.

He will succeed the retiring J. Michael McQuade and directly report to Greg Hayes, UTC chairman and CEO, the company said Thursday.

Eremenko will oversee the Farmington, Connecticut-based conglomerate™s research center and will lead research, development and engineering efforts in the building systems and aerospace industries.

He took over as Airbus CTO in June 2016 after he served as the founding CEO of the France-based aerospace and defense contractor™s A3 innovation center since May of 2015.

Prior to Airbus, Eremenko served as director of engineering for advanced technology and projects at Google and worked at Motorola (NYSE: MSI) for a year as associate vice president of advanced technology and projects.

Eremenko spent four years at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as manager of the Adaptive Vehicle Make design and manufacturing program portfolio and deputy director of the tactical technology office.
