Louis Berger Wins Potential $860M Award for Power Supply to Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands

The Louis Berger Group has won a potential $860 million contract from the U.S. Army to provide temporary power supply in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Army Corps of Engineers received two bids for the contract via the internet and the service branch will obligate funds upon issuance of each order, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

Contract work will occur through Sept. 30, 2018.

Louis Berger said Oct. 9 it deployed more than 300 personnel and independent contractors to help USACE, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Postal Service and the Defense Logistics Agency deliver supplies and equipment to the islands’ communities affected by Hurricane Maria.

The company also provided additional 200 power generators meant for Puerto Rico.
