Textrons (NYSE: TXT) Bell Helicopter subsidiary and General Electric (NYSE: GE) will act as principal contractors in the proposed FMS transaction that covers T-700 GE 401C engines, M240 machine guns and Honeywell-built (NYSE: HON) embedded GPS/inertial navigation systems, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.
The deal also includes FLIR Systems (Nasdaq: FLIR) Brite Star II multi-sensor targeting system, aircraft survivability equipment, helmet mounted displays, joint mission planning systems, communications tools, IFF transponders, spare, repair parts, test equipment, logistics support and training equipment.
Czech Republic will use the helicopters to build up its homeland defense, deter regional threats and support its military modernization efforts.
The agreement will require the deployment of contractor representatives to Czech Republic to facilitate technical reviews, engineering, maintenance and training support over a two-year period.
DSCA said it notified Congress of the deal on Oct. 11.
