The contract also includes onsite administration and management at 24 passport agencies and three passport centers across the country as well as document and quality control, mail-out services and customer service assistance in support of the bureaus passport services directorate, CGI said Monday.
A FedBizOpps notice posted July 14 says the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a base period of one year and four option years.
“Production and management of passports and travel cards is a vital citizen service and critical government mission that helps ensure the flow of commerce and tourism while safeguarding U.S. borders,” said Kenyon Wells, a senior vice president at CGI.
CGI Federal also provides visa services to U.S. consulates and embassies in 70 countries and is expected to help print at least 20 million passports and travel cards this year under the renewed contract.
The company has provided passport support services to the State Department since 1992 and has been in charge of the passport production support contract for the agencys book personalization centers since 2006.
