The Navigation Technical Assistance Contract II seeks to address commercial aviation efficiency and safety challenges through the integration of ground- and space-based navigation platforms, Tetra Tech said Thursday.
Under NAVTAC II, the company will also help FAA plan, implement, maintain and decommission navigation, landing and lighting systems.
Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO Dan Batrack said the company has assisted FAA in efforts to field satellite- and ground-based navigation technologies.
NAVTAC II is part of the agency’s broader initiative to modernize the national air transportation system and transition to a performance-based navigation process.
