Thomson Reuters: Gov’t Lawyers See Increased Workloads Amid Challenges; Steve Rubley Comments

Steve Rubley

TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 31, 2017 ” Thomson Reuters has released a survey report on city, state and federal government lawyers that indicates a view toward increased workloads over the next years and added pressure due to resource constraints, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The company said Wednesday 76 percent of the 238 polled lawyers see rising workloads amid changing laws and legislation as well as emerging and new legal issues, while 67 percent report that tighter budgets put pressure on those workloads.

“Technological resources and workflow solutions are important resources government attorneys should use to help improve their efficiency, allocate their time more effectively and mitigate the loss of institutional knowledge in the retirement wave if they are going to successfully address the wide array of legal matters they deal with regularly,” said Steve Rubley, managing director of Thomson Reuters’ government segment.

Rubley, who also serves as CEO of Thomson Reuters Special Services, is an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017.
