CGI Federal to Build Army’s Contract Writing System Under Potential $134M Award

CGI‘s (NYSE: GIB) federal business has received a potential $133.9 million contract to develop an enterprise-wide software platform for the U.S. Army to write, manage, execute or close out a contract.

The Army Contracting Command announced the contract award in a FedBizOpps notice posted Monday.

The service branch needs a contract writing and management system to simplify business processes, comply with the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act of 1996 and integrate multiple  enterprise resource planning platforms, according to a FedBizOpps summary.

CGI Federal will build the system in an effort to replace the Army’s current contracting platforms ahead of approaching sunset dates for the Defense Department‘s legacy Standard Procurement System.
