TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 8, 2017 The federal edition of Thales e-Security‘s 2017 Data Threat Report indicates that 96 percent of federal government employees feel vulnerable to potential data breaches and 71 percent think the adoption of new technologies may facilitate those vulnerabilities, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
The company said in the report produced with 451 Research that 61 percent of the 100 federal information technology security professionals surveyed have noted increased IT security spending.
“The Thales Data Threat Report for the U.S. public sector demonstrates once again that federal agencies continue to be the largest target of any sector for criminal exploits,” Wayne Lewandowski, vice president for the U.S. federal business area at Thales e-Security, told GovCon Wire.
“We are excited to partner with our government constituents to bring the recognized need for encryption, key management and policy controls to defend critical data,” he added.
