Jacobs Subsidiary Wins $350M Army Shallow Land Disposal Area Remediation Contract

A Jacobs Engineering Group (NYSE: JEC) subsidiary has won a potential 10-year, $350 million contract from the U.S. Army to support remediation activities at the Shallow Land Disposal Area in Parks Township, Pennsylvania.

The Defense Department said Wednesday that Jacobs Field Services North America will support the Army Corps of Engineers’ Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program through work plan development, emergency response preparedness and environmental monitoring services.

DoD noted that the contract will also include excavation work, waste characterization and segregation, waste evaluation and packaging as well as the disposal of radiologically contaminated materials.

FUSRAP aims to identify, investigate, control and clean up sites that have become contaminated during the country’s early atomic weapons and energy programs to protect human health, public safety and the environment from radioactive materials.

The service branch received four bids for the contract via the internet and will obligate funds with each order.

Jacobs Field Services North America is scheduled to finish work by Mar. 30, 2027.
