The government of Iraq asked to buy up-armored M1151 Humvees, M16A4 rifles, M2 50 and M240B machine guns, transportation and cargo vehicles and tactical quiet generator sets, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.
Helmets, body armor, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive protective and detection tools, M119A2 105mm howitzers, radio systems, navigation tools, medical equipment, spare parts and training support are also included in the potential deal.
AM General, Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS), Oshkosh Defense (NYSE: OSK), Colt Corp. and Navistar Defense will serve as contractors for the transaction that seeks to support Iraqs effort to counter the Islamic State militant organization.
DSCA said it notified Congress of the proposed FMS deal Tuesday.
