Oshkosh Corp.‘s (NYSE: OSK) defense segment has secured three contract modifications worth $259.6 million combined to continue refurbishment work on heavy expanded mobility tactical trucks, palletized load systems and self-recovery winches for the U.S. Army.
The Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday Oshkosh will modernize M1977A4, M984A4 and M978A4 tactical trucks as well as M1075A1 PLS and M984A4 self-recovery winches under a $116.1 million modification.
Oshkosh also received $88.2 million and $55.3 million in modifications for the recapitalization of M984A4, M985A4, M978A4, M983A4 and M1120A4 trucks; M1075A1 and M1074A1 PLS; new PLS trailers; and M984A4 self-recovery winches.
Work is scheduled to occur through Aug. 31, 2018 under the first two modifications and until Oct. 31, 2018 under the third modification.
The Army Contracting Command will use the service branch’s fiscal 2015, 2016 and 2017 “other” procurement funds to cover the full obligated amount.
The Army initially awarded Oshkosh a $780.3 million contract in June 2015 to upgrade HEMTT and PLS units before the service branch issued a first round of modifications worth a combined $433 million in March 2016.
