TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 14, 2017 Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of defense and intelligence systems at Hughes Network Systems, has said commercial satellite operators have expressed some concern over the schedule backlog in the launch of military communications satellites, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
National Defense Magazine reported Wednesday Lober noted the increased demand for satellite services from military customers during the recent Satellite 2017 conference.
“It seems like we are in a congested path right now and it’s definitely impacting things, but I think it’s starting to clear,” he told the publication, pointing to the development of new rockets such as United Launch Alliance‘s Vulcan and Blue Origin‘s New Glenn.
