NASA, Industry Team Resume James Webb Space Telescope Vibration Tests

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 27, 2017 ” NASA and the industry team working on the James Webb Space Telescope have resumed vibration tests following a shutdown of assessments in December due to a sensor reading anomaly, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The team comprised of Goddard Space Flight Center, Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA), Ball Aerospace, Arianespace and the European Space Agency has implemented changes to the test process to prevent recurrence of the anomaly, NASA said Wednesday.

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) completed the factory acceptance tests on the telescope’s ground control system earlier this month.
