general dynamics logoGeneral Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has promoted a pair of vice presidents within its Bath Iron Works and NASSCO subsidiaries to the roles of president for both organizations as the contractor will divide up its shipyard leadership responsibilities upon the Jan. 1, 2017 retirement of Frederick Harris.

General Dynamics said Monday Dirk Lesko, former vice president of surface combatants at Bath Iron Works, will elevate to the role of president at BIW and Kevin Graney will move up to president of NASSCO from his current VP and general manager post.

Harris has led the NASSCO shipyard since 2006 as president and added the same role for Bath Iron Works in 2013.

Lesko joined Bath Iron Works in 1990 and has held program management, strategic planning and finance roles since.

Graney started his NASSCO career in 2006 after 11 years at General Dynamics’ Electric Boat submarine subsidiary.
