The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday South Koreas request of the AN/AAQ- 24(V) LAIRCM systems includes three Guardian Laser Terminal Assemblies, six ultra-violet missile warning system sensors, a LAIRCM system processor, a control indicator unit replacement, a smart card assembly, a high capacity card and a user data memory card.
South Korea also asked for LAIRCMs in up to four A-330 multirole tanker and transport aircraft, training and support, initial spares and repair parts, technical data, engineering change proposals, modifications, publications, field service representative support, depot maintenance and flight test and certification services.
Implementation of the proposed sale will take place over up to six years.
South Korea sought the LAIRCM system for efforts to protect the countrys future aerial refueling and troop transport systems.
