Raytheon’s SM-6 Hits Target in Longest-Range Surface-to-Air Intercept


Raytheon logoTYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 4, 2016 ” The U.S. Navy has used Raytheon‘s (NYSE: RTN) Standard Missile-6 to perform a surface-to-air intercept of an over-the-horizon target at the longest range recorded to date, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Friday the missile was launched from the USS Princeton cruiser that is fitted with the Aegis Baseline 9 combat system.
