Lockheed Wins $149M Navy Electronic Warfare Production Contract Under SEWIP Block 2


ElectronicWarfareLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a potential three-year, $149 million contract to produce AN/SLQ-32 electronic warfare systems and subsystems for the U.S. Navy.

The Naval Sea Systems Command received two proposals for the firm-fixed-price contract and will obligate the full contract amount at the time of award, the Defense Department said Friday.

The contract covers full-rate production of AN/SLQ-32(V)6 and AN/SLQ-32A(V)6 subsystems as well as AN/SLQ-32C(V)6 systems under Block 2 of the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program, which aims to upgrade shipboard electronic warfare tools in order to detect and analyze threats and offer protection from anti-ship missiles.

SEWIP Block 2 seeks to update the electronic support antenna, ES receiver and open combat platform interface for the AN/SLQ-32 EW system in an effort to build up the EW system™s detection functions as well as keep pace with threats.

Lockheed™s mission systems and training business will perform work in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Minnesota, Alabama and the U.K., through November 2019, according to DoD.
