Comtech said Thursday former CEO and President Stanton Sloane will leave the company and also resign from his seat on the board of directors as part of the realignment that comes nearly seven months after the $430.8 million acquisition of TeleCommunication Systems.
Three-decade aerospace and industry veteran Michael Galletti has also joined Melville, New York-based Comtech as chief operating officer.
Galletti’s career includes leadership over international and local tactical and strategic communication systems, electronic warfare and radar development and production units for defense contractors such as Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS).
Richard Burt, a senior vice president at Comtech and president of its systems subsidiary, will add new responsibilities over the legacy TCS groups for command and control technology and mobile data communications.
Comtech said it made that move in order to align the government solutions segment with competitive priorities and build up business development efforts in that business.
Burt first joined Comtech in 1979 as VP of Comtech Systems before he was appointed president of the subsidiary in 1989 and elevated to the company SVP ranks in 1998.
