TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 19, 2016 ” A Dell-sponsored study by PSB has found that 70 percent of federal information technology decision-makers revealed their agencies still rely on legacy computer systems while more than 50 percent still use obsolete operating systems, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

Dell said Tuesday the State of IT Trends 2016 study surveyed 100 IT decision-makers in the federal government who pointed to cybersecurity and system support costs as the top concerns with legacy systems.

“For many organizations the first step is making the commitment to virtualized, software-based environments, ” said Steve Harris, vice president and general manager of Dell’s federal business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2016.

“Agencies need this future-ready IT environment to unlock the power of innovation, support digital transformation, protect mission-critical data and reduce maintenance costs.”
