The Defense Department said Thursday Boeing will perform the testing part of the contract on tasks meant to help the military branch evaluate the outcomes of flying the FTA7 (F-15C) and the FTE10 (F-15E) aircraft beyond their original service life.
Boeing will also conduct repairs on test articles in the process of testing or after the post-cycling inspection as well as limited teardown and failure analysis on selected parts that sustain cracking during tests.
The contract contains a one-year base period of performance and four one-year ordering periods and work will occur in St. Louis, Missouri, through Aug. 31, 2021.
The Air Force released the solicitation for the contract in July last year and obligated $11.1 million at the time of award from its fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds.
