Jim Brady, currently managing partner for the Central region at Grant Thornton, has been named chief operating officer of the company.
He will oversee Grant Thorntons public policy team as well as the firms Central and East regions and will continue to report to CEO Mike McGuire, Grant Thornton said Monday.
The 35-year professional services industry veteran will work through the companys headquarters in Chicago and continue to serve as a member of the companys senior leadership team.
Jim is a widely respected and highly talented leader who brings key insight to Grant Thorntons operational structure, McGuire said.
Prior to Grant Thornton, Brady spent 27 years at Deloitte where he held several roles such as national managing partner for Deloittes U.S. government affairs and public policy and CEO of the companys U.S.-India audit and advisory joint venture.
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants member also sits on the advisory board of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, board of councilors of the Carter Center and board of directors of the World Business Chicago.
