The Defense Department said Tuesday contractors will compete for task orders to develop manufacture and test prototypes to replace outdated AN/ALQ-99F components.
Work location will be determined between Lansdale, Pennsylvania; Amityville, New York; and Rancho Cordova, California as task orders are issued.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane received three offers for the contract through the Federal Business Opportunities website and obligated $3, 000 at the time of award from the service branch’s working capital funds.
ALQ-99 is designed to suppress enemy air defenses by jamming radar and communications targets and integrate with the EA-18G Growler and EA-6B Prowler aircraft platforms.
