State Dept Approves $300M Sale of SH-60F Sea Hawk Helicopter Components to Israel


SH-60F SeahawkThe State Department has cleared Israel™s request to procure SH-60F Sea Hawk helicopter components and related support services from the U.S. government under a potential $300 million foreign military sales agreement between the two countries.

General Electric (NYSE: GE) and Science and Engineering Services will serve as principal contractors for the sale that covers 12 T-700 GE 401C engines, eight AN/APN-217A Doppler radar navigation sets and eight AN/APN-194(V) radar altimeters, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.

The deal also includes the procurement of other aircraft equipment such as IP-1544A/ASQ-200 horizontal situation video displays, M-60D/M-240 machine guns, AN/ARC-174A (V)2 HF radios, auxiliary fuel tanks, spares, test and communication equipment and repair parts.

The contractors will also provide technical documentation, engineering, publications, program and logistic support services to Israel.

DSCA said Israel ordered eight Sikorsky-built SH-60F Sea Hawks under the Excess Defense Articles program under a separate FMS contract.

Israel plans to use the aircraft and related equipment to carry out search-and-rescue missions, communications relay, troop deployment and gunfire support operations as well as build up its defense capability and deter regional threats, according to DSCA.
