The Defense Department said Thursday Lockheed Martin Aeronautics‘ laboratory will feature a hardware in-the-loop system to analyze F-35 fighter jet MDF performance as well as limited product support elements and tools to process the data sets.
Naval Air Systems Command will obligate $27 million from international partner funds for the work to be performed in multiple locations, including California, Florida, New Hampshire and Texas through August 2020.
The fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II aircraft features integrated sensors and performs electronic attack and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
