The services segment of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) slated to merge into Leidos Holdings (NYSE: LDOS) has been awarded a potential three-year, $733 million task order to help the U.S. Army manage, operate and maintain sensor equipment and platforms used to collect data.
Lockheed said Tuesday the order includes one base year with two one-year options to extend work through March 2019 and an initial transition period scheduled to conclude by late July.
Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions segment will work with the Army to update sensor technology for use in air- and ground-based processing of data, as well as its transmission to users worldwide.
The Army awarded the Sensor Systems – Aerial Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance task order as part of the service branch’s Rapid Response 3rd Generation contract vehicle.
Leidos intends to complete the combination with Lockheed’s IS&GS segment by the end of this year.
