TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 8, 2016 Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, senior vice president for government strategy and policy at Inmarsat, has indicated that the company’s Global Xpress network promotes interoperability between commercial and military communications systems, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
Cowen-Hirsch wrote in a blog entry posted Wednesday the company developed the Ka-band satellite broadband system to help military or government users connect anywhere in the world.
The unique advantage of Ka-band is that it is the only frequency where the commercial and military bands are adjacent to each other, so commercial solutions can transparently complement MILSATCOM capacity, she noted.
