The Defense Department said Tuesday the modification covers Atlas V rocket configuration and mission specific items for the service branch’s four previously ordered missions.
ULA, a joint venture of Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will perform work at facilities in Colorado and Alabama as well as at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida through Sept. 28, 2018.
The AF Space and Missile Systems Center is the contracting activity and will obligate the full amount of the modification at the time of the award from fiscal 2016 space procurement funds.
Atlas V rockets are designed to support the U.S. government’s space launch missions and has recorded more than 600 launches to date.
