Army Picks Lockheed Rocket Pods for $332M FMS to Israel, Finland, Jordan, Singapore


lockheed martinLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will provide the U.S. Army various rocket pods for Israel, Finland, Jordan and Singapore under a $331.8 million foreign military sales contract.

The Defense Department said Thursday Lockheed’s missile and fire control business will supply 290 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System alternative warhead rocket pods, 34 GMLRS unitary rocket pods and 529 GMLRS reduced-range practice rocket pods.

DoD added the contract requires services that are associated with the production process, including integrated logistics and download/demate support.

Work will occur in Texas and Arkansas through March 31, 2018.

The Army Contracting Command obligated the full amount at the time of the award from the service branch’s fiscal 2016 “other” procurement funds, DoD said.

The GMLRS unitary rocket features a warhead capacity of 200 pounds and an anti-jam processor to support Army tactical and operational requirements.
