Army Taps Lockheed, Northrop JV for $117M Apache Radar FMS Contract With India

ApacheA Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) joint venture has secured a potential $116.7 million contract to produce fire control radar systems for India through a foreign military sales deal.

Longbow LLC will also support the U.S. Army‘s Apache Attack Helicopter Project Management Office under the firm-fixed-price contract, the Defense Department said Friday.

The Longbow Fire Control Radar system is designed to integrate with Hellfire air-to-surface missiles used on Boeing-built (NYSE: BA) Apache combat helicopters and works to help Apache aircrews detect, locate and classify targets.

Contract work will occur through Dec. 31, 2021, at Lockheed’s and Northrop’s facilities in Maryland and Florida.

The Army Contracting Command obligated $57.2 million at the time of award from fiscal 2016 other procurement funds.
