BAE Gets $110M Army Contract Modification for M88A2 HERCULES Vehicles


BAE Systems HerculesBAE Systems™ land and armaments business has received a potential $109.7 million contract modification to produce 36 M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System vehicles for the U.S. Army.

The company will perform work in York, Pennsylvania, through Aug. 31, 2018, under the contract modification that also covers authorized stockage list spares, the Defense Department said Monday.

The Army Contracting Command will obligate the full contract amount from fiscal 2016 œother procurement funds at the time of award, according to DoD.

The HERCULES vehicle is designed to retrieve combat vehicles on the battlefield.

The recovery vehicle has a 140, 000-pound pull main winch with a 280-foot-long cable, overlay armor protection system, auxiliary winch, 35-ton boom, and ballistic skirts.
