The RAND-operated FFRDC will perform research and analyses that seek to address the service branch’s space, cyber and aerial requirements under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Department said Monday.
Project Air Force is one of the three studies and analysis FFRDCs operated by the nonprofit research organization and works to generate new concepts and conduct independent policy research.
The sole-source, cost-plus-need-for-fee contract covers analysis and studies into force modernization and employment, resource management, manpower and training, strategy and doctrine, and research integration across the service branch.
Work will occur in Santa Monica, California, through March 31, 2021.
The Air Force District of Washington Contracting Directorate will obligate $1.4 million from fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award for the initial task order, according to DoD.
