Thales Group has closed its acquisition of San Jose, California-based data protection technology vendor Vormetric after the French conglomerate obtained regulatory clearance for the estimated $424 million transaction.
Patrice Caine, CEO of Thales, said in a statement issued Thursday the company will integrate Vormetric into its e-Security business in a push to help organizations secure high volumes of sensitive data.
The integrated business will work with enterprise customers to help manage the cyber posture of their data centers and cloud computing systems as well as comply with data privacy laws, Thales noted.
Thales first announced the deal in October last year.
Thales’ e-Security subsidiary offers a portfolio of hardware security module, network encryption, key management and time stamping platforms.
